SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submissions are OPEN for Mockingbird & Wire’s online publication.

We are accepting submissions for Mockingbird & Wire, our ongoing online publication dedicated to showcasing the voices of young artists across Texas. There are no themes—just strong, original work that reflects your perspective, your story, and your creative vision.

Published pieces will appear on our website and may also be considered for additional opportunities, including our annual print anthology, artist interviews, and performance features. We’re looking for work that speaks—loudly or quietly—from the heart of Texas youth.

What to Submit:

  • Poetry/Prose: 1 to 3 original pieces

  • SHORT FORM Creative Nonfiction/Fiction Up to 500 words

  • LONG FORM Creative Nonfiction/Fiction Up to 1000 words

  • Photo Essays: Up to 5 images and an accompanying short essay

We are looking for bold, thoughtful, and original voices that capture the spirit of adolescence and place.
