GENERAL SUBMISSIONS

General Submissions are OPEN for Mockingbird & Wire

Mockingbird & Wire accepts rolling submissions from Texas youth ages 13–19. This space is for work that doesn't fit a specific theme but still captures the spirit of growing up, identity, place, and everything that falls in between.

What to Submit:

Poetry/Prose: 1 to 3 original pieces
Short Form (Fiction & Creative Non Fiction): Up to 500 words
Long Form (Fiction & Creative Non Fiction): Up to 1,500 words
Photography: Up to 5 images

All work should be previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are welcome, just let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Formatting: Times New Roman, 12 pt font

Short description on the meaning behind a piece, along with the name of each one. If photogtaphy follows a collection, clearly state the title and provide a slightly longer description. However; this does not mean we need an essay.
